Natural black hair care?

Hi. I have been natural since November 2007 when I made the big chop. I currently have a TWA about 2 inches long. Anyway, I've been using Aphogee shampoo and conditioner and tea tree oil on my hair and scalp. My mother thinks I should be using Pantene Pro-V Relaxed and Natural. So my question, is Pantene good for natural black hair?

Hi! I have natural hair as well, since Sept 2005. I would say to use what works best for your hair. I have done the whole thing were you switch because people think it will be the best for your hair, what happened for me was I spent money on products that didn't work for me. I would thank your mother for the advice, but if you the Aphogee is working for you then I would stick with it. Hope this helps :-).

What could it hurt to try Pantene? If not you can always go back- but personally I love pantene!

hi ive been natural for 16 years. i have a 4a hair type. when i used pantene relaxed and natural it was horrible. I had a greasy dry mess and breakage out the wazoo! unless they are being made with a different formulation now, i would still say they are crap for natural hair. but your hair may like them. my hair really likes "white hair" products such as sunsilk and tresemme. so that goes to show that just because a products says natural hair or black hair on it dosent mean it will work well for natural afro hair.
