Hair straightener help...?

Okay, so I'm looking for a new straightener/flat iron, and I was originally going to cave in and buy a professional one (ie. Chi, Sedu, GHD, ect.), but I have long hair so I would have to get a 2" ... but then again I'm also thinking about cutting my hair short so if I did that I would need to get a 1" so then it would be a BIG waste of money... get what I'm saying?

Okay, so my question is:

What is a good straightener/flat iron that I can buy at Target/Wal-mart that works pretty much amazing for the price?

Please help!!

Thank you!

I got a straightner by the brand Metropolis for only 70 bucks. I got it from Ulta and i think it works amazingly well. But if you do decide to go with a more expensive one make sure it has some kind of warenty along the lines of ten years. Most straightners such as those are worth. Dont' buy a rediculously cheep straighter...they stink.

i have wet 2 straight by remington, it works pretty great, i love it!! u can find it at walmart, i think. but don't actually use it when your hair is wet, its bad for your hair and doesn't work as well, and i'm not sure how it compares with top of the line straighteners

REMINGTON WET 2 STRAIGHT

BEST thing I've ever used, and it was 30 bucks. It literally straightens your hair while it's wet, and dries it as you go. My hair is super damaged and thin, but this doesn't create any further damage. It's awesome. They should have it in CVS or Eckerd or somewhere like that. Good luck!

you know what just get the chi one inch. i had SUPER long hair and a LOT of it and it got the job done FINE. then it broke like YEARS later so i had to buy a new one and i bought a vidal sassoon one for not as much money as the chi and it was ceramic adn everything but a couple weeks later i started noticing that my hair was dry and it was lookin more brown that black (my natural hair color) so i stopped, and bought ANOTHER chi, they are so worth it, trust me.

Nothing really...you should stick to a professional one like a Chi...good investment in the long run. We've been through the same issues and spent a lot of $$$. Now we only have the Chi....and it really is great. Remember to use a heat protectant spray or serum before using it.

Hey,

My mother is a hairdresser from Paul Mitchell and I have a hair straightener from Paul Mitchell that is amazing. It heats up in about 15 seconds to its hottest level of 425. I have had 3 before this one and this one is the only one that has lasted over a year. It did cost kinda alot $105 but in the long run it was worth it.

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Tips for buying professional hair appliances ===

Do NOT buy professional hair appliances from unauthorized places like amazom.com, eBay, Target, Walmart, etc. Because if you do, manufacturers will refuse to honor the warranty. Buy from licensed places like salon, licensed professional beauty stores like Folica.com, Ulta.com, West Coast Beauty Supply Inc. etc

Sedu works great for my THICK, FRIZZY hair. it is the only iron that let my hair stay straight for days even in high humidity (new york city).
