hi i am a hairdresser; we do a LOT of perms at work; if you already have quite curly hair it will curl; depends; curly hair is naturally drier than wavy or straight hair; which means having a perm will dry it out even more; hence if u have a perm, it will just go frizzy and be worse than it is now. if i were you, i would keep scrunching it and use a leave in conditioner. as soon as u get out of the shower, toweldry your hair so its still a little damp, then brush it, and put in a light leave in conditioner it should hold the curl roughly all day; and during the day if you wet it a little it should also help.

I had my hair permed about 2 years ago and it looked really good. I liked it at first, but I got tired of it and felt like it took forever 2 grow out. The advantage 2 a perm, though, is that you have options 4 hairstyles. You can go curly or straight. With a perm, it's easier 2 do your hair rather that straghtening it.

Perms don't work. They never do. Deep down you know this.
I have curly hair, and I can tell you that to perm on top of curl is pointless, and very drying. Try letting your hair air dry, don't use a diffuser or a gel they are very frizzing to tell the truth, and just use a leave in conditioner. You'll be suprised how curly your hair will be if you treat it right.
Play around with it, but don't use chemicals on it!
