My hair is poofy it dries up its so thick it dosen't even fall down its in the air its so embarssing i just straighten it but i dosen't last long somebody said to do this should i do it?
Go to Sally Beauty supply and get a big jar of Cholesteral... I know it sounds sick, but it's like really thick conditioner and it's really cheap. After you wash your hair and get out of the shower, slather this in your hair, but your hair in a shower cap, wrap a hot towel around your head, followed by another towel (to keep in the heat) and let it sit for 30 min. Rinse it out and enjoy
will it help???
Extreme Damaged hair help?!?
Gurl i have the exact same hair as you my hair is very poofy! The conditioning thing may work but you know african american hair, its not going to last long! What i strongly advise is you relax your hair it depends on the type of hair you have the nappyer your hair is the stronger the relaxer youll need. (i used SUPER relaxer and it gets my hair straight!) once you get it relaxed blow dry it and moisturize your hair with %26lt;jojoba oil%26gt; this oil really works!, it not only makes your hair longer it makes it less damaged and stronger! You can find it at Jenny Beauty supply, on ebay.com, walmart, and i think wallgreens .After you fully moisturize your hair with jojoba oil GET YOUR HAIR BRAIDED! Put your hair in some braids (cornrows) this will speed up the process! trust me after about 3 mounths my hair used to be to my neck now its 3 inches pasted my shoulders! during these three mounths try to keep getting your hair braided every 1 mounth. Trust me when your done youll ove the results! Tell me how it worked!
Good luck!!

Extreme Damaged hair help?!?
I used to have that problem.Yes it should add moister to hair and make your hair look healthy. You should try going to the hair salon and get your hair growing healthy and get your ends trimmed every three months.DO NOT GET A PERM IT WOULD JUST MAKE YOUR HAIR EVEN MORE DAMAGED.I REPEAT DO NOT GET A PERM.

Extreme Damaged hair help?!?
It does sound like your hair is very damaged. The Cholesteral treatments are good, but I doubt they will solve your problem. Your gonna have to adopt a hair care regimen and stick to it. Just taking care of your hair on a regular basis is the only thing that will really help.
I'm just assuming your have a relaxer b/c that's what it sounds like. Your problem might be b/c your using No-Lye relaxers. They cause protein build-up in your hair that damage it overtime. Their designed to be easier on your scalp and not your hair and even with using neutralizing shampoo, buildup remains. I suggest switching to a Lye or No Base relaxer. These relaxers are easier on your hair and don't leave behind the buildup like No-lye does. But it you burn easily, you should take the proper precautions to protect your scalp. I use Creme of Nature No Base. Never put a Super relaxer on your hair, it will only make things worse in the long run. I suggest using Mild.
Since your hair is relaxed, try stretching between relaxers. So instead of relaxing every 6 weeks, try to go for 10 weeks instead. Stretching cuts down on the chances of you overlapping and over-processing previously relaxed hair which leads to damage, brittle hair and breakage.
Another thing may be that your hair isn't getting enough moisture. B/c you regularly use heat on your hair you should use a daily moisturizer to give back what the heat is taking away. (i.e Pantene Relaxed %26amp; Natural Daily Moisturizer.) Also, consider washing your hair weekly or biweekly (however often you wash) with only conditioner. It's called co-washing and is really good for your hair. Only wash once a month with a clarifying shampoo to get rid of buildup. Shampoo is very harsh on your hair and strips it so co-washing is cleaning your hair but not nearly as harsh. I use Mane n Tail Conditioner and sometimes leave it in as a leave in conditoner.
You also have to really reduce the amount of heat you apply to your hair. I know that it may be hard, but just try out other protective styles like wraps, ponytails, braids, etc.
Lastly I would suggest that you protect your ends. I use a product by Elasta QP called Mango Butter. I apply it to my ends and sides. It protects your hair by sealing in moisture to prevent split ends and breakage.
Best of luck in your haircare journey. HTH.
