Drastic hair color change...help!?

i have dark brown hair, that faded to a more auburn color, and pale, milky skin. For a fun change, i want to dye my hair plantinum blonde. I have dark eye brows and dark brown eyes. would this work, or would it be a big mistake. If i can't go paris blonde, i would settle for a more kate moss like honey blonde, but i really want to go all out.

Please help me, and be honest. I just want to know if it would look acceptable.

I am a salon owner..do not do this yourself...go to a GOOD colorist and take the advice that she gives you...The people here have nothing to loose by giving opinion....

start not so blond and if u end up liking it then go for a lighter blond that way you wont end up making a mistake...or you could always dye your eyebrows as well :]

Maybe if you died your eyebrows too. Think about it dark eye brows with blonde hair?!?!? I think it would look nice with brown eyes though.

take advice from a specialist in a salon coz to go from dark to light might damage ur hair. if he says its ok based on ur hair strength, then u have to bleach ur eye brows too to make it look natural with ur hair.

I do not think it would be a good idea, because the color change would be too drastic. Once you dye it you must keep on dying it, and dark brown roots are not very pretty. I suggest that you color your hair closer to your natural shade, such as a warm or light brown.

Only go to blonde after you try on a few wig with the colors you are interested in. See how that color looks on you. I once tried on a platinum blonde wig and and shocked at how it made me look.

Then go to a highly qualified professional color expert to see what their recommendations are. It could be your hair could not handle the drastic change.

yes! it would be. just as long as you go to someone who know's what they're doing- don't try and bleach your hair or anything! also don't just walk into any salon- ask some of your friends who have highlighted blonde hair or get all of their hair colored blonde and ask who did it.

i also have auburn/brown hair and i tried to go blonde last year. the stylist did my hair completely one shade of YELLOW. it cost me 90$ to get it done and the next day i had to buy a bottle of 4$ dye and dye brown right over it. big mistake. should have done my research! but yeah, i think you'll be fine. it should match with your complexion and make you actually appear more tan as opposed to having contrasting dark hair.

no no no no no no! plz dont do either! with pale skin, dark hair looks good! me and my whole family has it! trust me...plus bleaching that much could really damage your hair and make it all dry and cracky! please dont color it like that unless its like dirty / dark blonde!
